A LETTER FROM OUR PASTOR & FIRST LADY:

 

Dear Friends,

Allow us to introduce ourselves. We are Pastor Eric and Katy Gash, of Speak Life Community Church here in Hendersonville, North Carolina. On this, the 10th anniversary of our ministry, we are launching our first-ever fund-raising drive, in the hopes of purchasing a building to call our own. 
         
Ten years ago the Lord placed a message in our hearts. That message was to create a house of worship that would honor our Lord Jesus Christ with the fruit of their lips and with their actions. We started in December 2008, meeting in a room in the Opportunity House. We rented a single room from them for one year. From there, we took a step of faith to rent a building located on Davis Street. We were there for a period of two years. We felt the Lord calling us to step out in faith yet again and we moved to North Main Street where we worshipped the Lord for six years. At the end of that period, we found ourselves back at Opportunity House to celebrate our ten year anniversary.

Here is the reason for this letter. We are planning to purchase a church building located on 1st Avenue right here in the heart of downtown Hendersonville. This building was constructed in the1950’s to house the Church of the Nazarene. It later became the home of Friendship Baptist church, and most recently Vision Jesus.   As the Lord would have it, we were recently contacted by Pastor Mauricio Jesus, and were informed that the church building is available for sale. We were delighted to hear this because we have been praying for the past year that just such an opportunity would arise.

And so, we reach out to you in the hopes that you will share in our vision to establish a permanent home for Speak Life Community Church here in Hendersonville, and make a donation towards this cause. Our goal is to raise $130,000 by March 2019, and we currently stand at $30,000. Donations of any amount will be greatly appreciated, but we ask you to be as generous as you can be.
